About Valentina Lisa
Valentina Lisa Bättig discovered her passion for singing at the age of nine, taking her first lessons
with her mother, Ruth Bättig, who continues to guide her vocal development. Her dedication led her to study with Prof. Christian Hilz at the Hochschule der Künste Bern, where she earned
both her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Performance with distinction.
In June 2024, she completed her Master’s in Specialized Performance (Solo Voice) with honors, marked by a final recital at the Ca- sino Bern with the “Berner Sinfonieorchester”.
Valentina’s artistic journey reflects her love for both operatic and musical theater repertoire. She
made her stage debut as Maria in West Side Story and went on to perform roles such as the Dream
Fairy and Sandman in Hänsel and Gretel, Papagena and Pamina in The Magic Flute, Zerlina and
Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera, and Annina and Violetta in La
Traviata. Her Master’s studies focused on the role of Giulietta in I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Lucia in
Lucia di Lammermoor and Violetta in La Traviata. She has also appeared as a concert soloist in
works like Haydn’s Creation, Mozart’s Requiem, Beethoven’s Christus am Ölberg, Pergolesi’s Stabat
Mater, Rutter’s Magnificat and several other pieces.
Valentina aspires to bring emotional authenticity and storytelling to every performance, bridging
classical tradition with fresh interpretation. Her achievements include first prize at Nouvelles Etoiles
(2020), Artist of the Year at IYMC, and finalist placements at Opera en Castellano and the Music Inter-
national Grand Prix New York.
In 2024, she joined the “Waiblinger Opernwerkstatt” under Melanie Diener and Thomas Hamp-
son. She currently studies with British soprano Amanda Roocroft and has participated in master-
classes with Brigitte Fassbaender, Thomas Hampson, Brian Zeger, David Gowland and others.
