Alexandra Jerinic
Mezzo-soprano
USA
About Alexandra
Alexandra Jerinic, mezzo soprano, is active in both the U.S. and Europe. Recent credits include Hansel in
Hansel and Gretel, Dido in Dido and Aeneas and First Musician in the world première of At the Hawk's
Well, an adaptation of the play by W.B. Yeats. Other recent career highlights include Flora in La Traviata,
and Fricka in Das Rheingold with the Wagner Festival of the West’s inaugural season.
In October of 2021, she completed a triumphant role debut as Adalgisa in Bellini’s Norma. Prior to that, she portrayed the principal role of Fanny Price in Jonathan Dove’s Mansfield Park with Opera Modesto (U.S. Premiere,
orchestrated version). In 2019 she made her European debut as Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi with Opera
Romana Craiova in Romania, and made her role debut as Carmen with California Opera, to highest
acclaim. Equally at home in serious and comic repertoire, her performances have been recognized as
“delightful” and “excellent” as recognized by reviewers Donald Munro and Robert Commanday, founder
of San Francisco Classical Voice.
As a Master musician, M.M., Ms. Jerinic excels in 20th century, contemporary opera. Ms. Jerinic premiered the role of Mrs. Hale in the world premiere of John Bilotta's Trifles, Miss Proctor in the west coast premiere of Menotti's The Boy Who Grew Too Fast and participated in a new composition and intercultural work, In a Memory Palace, at Theater of Yugen.
Concert credits include a featured soloist with Midsummer Mozart Festival, guest soloist at Chinese tenor Tianfu Zhang’s Carnegie Hall recital and Mahler's Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen with the Kensington Symphony
Orchestra.
She collaborates with agents, composers, and conductors in both the United States and Europe.
Future engagements include La Zia Prinicpessa with California Opera and covers of Wellgunde and
Flosshilde with Tacoma Opera.
