Valerian Mchedlidze

Baritone

Valerian Mchedlidze — Georgian baritone, born on April 26, 1993.

Originally trained as a journalist, he later chose the path of an opera singer and received his
professional musical education at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire named after Vano Sarajishvili.
From 2015 to 2019, he studied in the bachelor’s program under the guidance of the renowned artist
Timur Gugushvili, and completed his master’s degree in 2023 independently.

Valerian made his debut on the stage of the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre in January 2025,
performing the role of Morales in Carmen.


In April of the same year, he performed the role of Bustamante in Jules Massenet’s Manon, and in
June he reprised the role of Morales.


On September 5 and 6, 2025, he participated in the theatre’s tour in Paphos (Cyprus), performing
again as Morales.


In the fall of 2025, he performed the role of Prince Yamadori in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly
(October 10, 12, and 17).

Valerian was a finalist of the VII Concorso Internazionale di Canto Lirico “Bellano – Paese degli
Artisti” in the summer of 2023.


Following the competition, he was awarded a contract to participate in the “Kantissimo Operngala”
on July 6, 2024, in Hohenems (Austria), performing with the Arpeggione Orchestra at the palace of
the Austrian royal family.

In 2025, he became a finalist of the international competition Opera Crown (November 8, 2025).
