Christine Laury first developed her love of music by singing in the local church childrens' choir and taking piano lessons at the age of 10. It was in 6th grade that she developed a love for the stage when she was cast in her grade school production of Cinderella, as a member of the Ball. She went on to sing in her high school concert choir (Mercer Island High School) and earn honors as a member of the Washington All-State Choir and with the Northwest Connection Gospel Choir behind legendary, multiple-grammy award winning artist, Shirley Caesar.
Christine continued her studies in performing arts, first earning an Associates Degree in Arts at Yakima Valley College and a Bachelor degree in Performing Arts at The University of Texas (at Rio Grande Valley). During her time in college Laury earned lead and supporting roles in productions such as Shakespeare's "MacBeth"and "The Taming of the Shrew", "The Secret Garden", "Little Foxes", "Light Up the Sky", "The Triumph of Love", "The Heidi Chronicles", and the spanish language production "Fuente Ovejuna".
These roles led to a Broadway audition with legendary New York Tony-award winning Producer, Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof, The Apple Tree, She Loves Me), who cast Laury in a featured singing role in his summer campus tour of his musical "Dragons".
Laury moved to Los Angeles and sang with Master Chorales such as The City of Angels, Street Symphony, and Urban Voices for the annual Handel's" Messiah Project", broadcast Live each year to the Kennedy Center in New York. While in LA Christine also lended vocals to the Tim Burton movie soundtrack for "Dumbo" and sang in the American Summer Tour with the Kingdom Hearts III orchestra under the baton of European conductor, Yannis Pouspourikas (France).
Currently, Christine is pursuing a career in opera and is a member of the Los Angeles Opera League and LA Opera's Community Educator program.
